Marilyn Robinson — Give Us This Day
The vocalist is Washington DC native Marilyn Egerton, formerly known as Marilyn Robinson. The recording was made in a basement in Southeast DC sometime in the late 1980s. Marilyn began singing as a child and was noticed early as an exceptional natural talent. Like many young singers, she spent much of her early years singing in church, primarily gospel. She never stopped singing gospel even as she excelled at the Duke Ellington School of the Arts where she delved into intensive operatic study with DC's finest instructors.
